Augustus the Dinosaur

Darling five got into the crafty spirit and decided to make a cute blue dinosaur for Darling Two.  We just love Augustus's spots, wide smile and the whimsical touch of his checkered bow tie.  He may be the preppiest and sweetest dinosaur we have ever seen.  And just when you think it can't get better, the yellow plates on his back really complete his form.  Rawr!  Wishing you a wild weekend.

Domo arigato, Mr. Roboto

After scouring Manhattan for some unique souvenirs, our lovely darling three brought home this origami robot kit for the girls.  We quickly became smitten with the Piperoid paper pipe robot.  Being unable to resist, darling four and five quickly got to work in putting it together.  We like to think that he's a gentle robot, the kind that saves the world and brings you flowers on a bad day.  And not only is he fun to play with, he looks pretty cool too.  Arigato indeed.

Cream Puffs Ahoy!

A little bit of crunch and a whole lot of yum! These cream puffs are undeniably delicious. As fair warning, once you taste one, you'll find yourself losing control and devouring all of them! Darling four never fails to bring sweet goodness that can be shared with everyone. Try this light and lovely treat on your own with this recipe. Enjoy!

Mixing it up this winter

Sometimes more is more.  By mixing different textures and colors, a gal can keep her look interesting all while staying extra warm.  It's been cold here in Dallas and we've had a lot of fun with layering.  In the spirit of being more adventurous, darling three wraps a scarf into her very own turban.  It's a look we've been trying to pull off and darling three makes it look easy.

Our tips with layering: try staying within a color scheme and add a different texture like fur, or mix and match with tops and take it up a notch with some statement jewelry.  Just don't over layer to the point of boxiness.  Stay warm out there.

Outfit Details: Wallace crew neck tee, silence+noise jacket, F21 jeans, Old Navy fur vest, glasses and koi fish necklace, beaded necklace, ecote scarf as turban, and platform heels from Banana Republic.

Friday Blues

It's finally Friday!  We don't know about you, but it's felt like a long week, especially after the holiday vacation.  While we do our best to look and feel wonderful, sometimes our busy schedules keep us from taking care of ourselves.  Fear not readers.  Like everything else, it's all about perspective.

Here is the coolest hair updo we've found on the web.

We also love to keep it simple with our look.  Wearing boots to keep us warm from the cold also does wonders to make a gal look chic and collected.  Check out this look, it's so easy to do.  All you need are some basic skinny pants, a long top and cute jacket, and of course, warm boots to make it work.

We can't wait to stay in this weekend, away from the cold and be delightfully lazy.

Cheers to the weekend!
