If I call you darling ...

Do you like to eat breakfast?
The darling six gang are breakfast folk and we cherish our Saturday mornings together.  Darling four whipped up some light and fluffy pancakes topped with her signature home made whipped cream.  We added bananas and honey to lessen the guilt of eating so many!  Here's the recipe for the pancakes.

The trick to making the perfect pancake is knowing just when to flip it over.  It's only when you see air bubbles forming on one side that you flip the pancake (usually within 2-3 minutes on a medium high heat).  For darling four's whipping cream recipe all you need are three things: 1/2 cup of whipping cream, 2-4 tablespoons of confectioner's sugar and a mixer.  If you like it sweet, feel free to add more sugar.  Combine the two ingredients and beat them to airy perfection with a mixer.  It's that easy and it tastes so much better than the cool whip stuff you can get from the grocery store.  We're still licking our fingers from the sticky goodness of these pancakes.  Bon apetito!  xoxo.

Because we love ...

She makes my heart race

Sometimes a girl just needs to get swept away.
Walking around the majestic opera house in Dallas, darling three dressed up for the occasion.  We love to spend time in the arts district when we can.  Darling three shows us her take on getting dressed up with her signature free-spirited style.  She is never afraid to take some risks.  This pillared skirt paired with a silk ivory top and serious boots all come together with darling three's favorite vintage red belt.  The gold clasps on the belt create the perfect little detail that keeps us swooning.
Now if only we could get tickets to the opera ....
xoxo.

The deep magic within

Darling five has been at it again, creating the most adorable dolls out of minimal fabric and grand imagination.  Given to darling one as a Christmas gift, darling five presented this courageous lion to inspire.  We love his checkered cape and all the painful attention that went into the details in his paws, fiery red mane, and tail.  Safe to say, he'll be around for a long time, keeping the darling six gang's deep sense of bravery in tact.  Roar!

Blaze your own trail

We love the timeless blazer.
It has truly evolved from being the perfect lady like accent to rock star chic, down right casual, or ready for business.  It's interesting to see how its evolution has followed the emancipation of women.  We can be whoever we want to be and live our life on our own terms today.  Darling three takes it to another level with what could have been a casual look by pulling up her style with this chic ivory wool blazer.  Whether you want to dress it up or down, the blazer comes with so many options.  We love her cool girl style.  However you decide to wear it, make it your own :)
xoxo.

You're never too old for cartoons ...

We're not afraid to admit that some of the darling six gang just love to watch cartoons.  Paying homage to some of their favorite characters and super heroes, darling three and five wear them on these t-shirts with great pride and affection.  And just in case you were wondering, these two are the biggest comic book nerds you will ever meet.  So whether you're team batman or superman, don't be afraid to show the world the things you love, even if they're comic book related.  xo.

Chain of Paper Hearts

On a day like today, attention must be paid to love.  Darling five cut out these paper chain people and in the spirit of Valentine's Day, added some bright hearts and distinguished mustaches.  We like to think that all of us give special attention to those we love on every occasion, not just because of a holiday.  So whether you celebrate it big or like to keep it simple, don't forget about the little things that make every day a little more love-ly.  Hope you enjoy some of our favorite little snippets of love found in the pictures below.  xoxo.

Winter Frolic

J. Crew blazer, scarf and ear muffs, Gap striped tee and shorts, and J.Crew booties

We've been fortunate with all of the recent snow days in Dallas.  Since it rarely ever snows here, the darling six gang couldn't get enough of the wintery white view that stretched out before our eyes these past few mornings.  Darling five manages to look cute and smart with her scarf and headgear.  We love the juxtaposed pairing of shorts and tights, all cinched together with dark ankle boots.  Darling five is definitely a gal we'd like to hang with on a cold winter's day.  Stay warm.

Orange Cake Zing!

On behalf of our darling father's birthday, darling four pulled up her sleeves and got busy making an orange cake from scratch. This cake amazed us with all of its bursting flavors . The sweet creamy notes are complimented with just enough zing from the orange rind flavoring in the light and fluffy icing.  Another great thing: the cake topping is up to you.  If you haven't noticed already, us darlings can't say no to fresh fruit on our sweets, but that's just us.  So add whatever your heart tells you will be delicious.  On a side note, if you happen to encounter a cold winter's evening, hot cocoa as this cake's company will make your taste-buds sing with joy!  Here's the recipe to your happiness.
